Man United to revive interest in Real Madrid midfielder in the summer

According to reports from The Independent, Manchester United are set for a huge summer splurge on Real Madrid midfileder, Toni Kroos. The 27-year-old midfield general is wanted by Jose Mourinho to orchestrate things from midfield.

The Germany midfielder is currently an undisputed member of the Real Madrid first team, and would take a mammoth wage increase to tempt him to Old Trafford. Mourinho, 54, has identified the former Bayern Munich man as the perfect foil to complement world record signing, Paul Pogba as the Frenchman is still struggling to replicate the form he showed at Juventus on a more consistent basis at The Theatre of Dreams.

Kroos was wanted by the English giants when he decided to leave The Allianz Arena in 2014, due to contract extension disputes, but the midfielder had his sights set on only playing for Real Madrid, as he had declared his life-long dream was to play for the Spanish giants.

Kroos is an accomplished central midfielder who is very good at passing and dictating play from the quarter-back position, in the mould of Andrea Pirlo. Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager will be unwilling to sell the coveted player, but a bid in the region of over £50m could force his hand.

Mourinho wants the 2014 World Cup winner to partner Pogba in midfield alongside Ander Herrera in a midfield trio as he looks to dominate the league in the nearest future. Kroos, also has never hidden his intention to one day, test himself in the English Premier League.

Since joining Los Blancos in 2014, he has won the Champions League, Club World Cup twice and the European Super Cup twice as well.
