How Do The Red Devils Become Dominant Again?

It has been a turbulent season for Manchester United, with the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spectacularly backfiring just as the Red Devils’ season looked like getting back on track. The last ten games of the season have been nothing short of a disaster; with only two wins during this run. The final day of the season, which has long been an important day for the club was just a sign of how far the once dominant side has fallen. They were forced to watch on as Manchester City and Liverpool competed for the top prize, but it seems that there is no quick fix for the Red Devils.

However, there is a fix for gamblers that are looking for new betting sites for UK football punters, and this could ensure maximum winnings ahead of the crucial European cup finals coming up; something that United fans could only dream they were playing a part in. But, how do United get back among the elite in England?
Big Summer Window

The upcoming transfer window is arguably the biggest in the history of Manchester United. It isn’t hard to see that there has been a lack of connection between the fans and the club for the past season; with players wearing the famous red shirts looking past their best. Players such as Ashley Young, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have all been pinpointed throughout the season as reminders of the glory days of yesteryear that are no longer reaching the quality that is needed for the club.

In truth, many football fans wouldn’t be surprised if over ten players left the club during the summer; just highlighting the lack of depth in the squad. The transfer of Alexis Sanchez has been a disaster, while it’s questionable whether the Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku moves have been beneficial for the team. The transfer window will present a chance for the club to clear the decks and start from scratch.
Invest in Youth

United have always been proud of their ability to bring through youth players into the senior set-up, and that is something that despite a turbulent season has been on full display. There have been league debuts this term for Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood; with both playing their part in the club’s famous win in Paris in the Champions League. The latter of the two has enjoyed an excellent goalscoring season for the youth teams and was rewarded with a start on the last day of the season against Cardiff City.

The upcoming season could see a lot of the youth players given chances, and fans will be happy with that, and the connection will be immediate. The main concern from Old Trafford this season has been the lack of commitment from the highest earners in the team, but one thing that you get from youth players is effort, and that is crucial to the team that Solskjaer will be looking to build.

Most of the biggest clubs in world football have no adopted the European model of including a director of football, and that is something that United have also explored. Edwin van der Sar has expressed its importance during the successful rise of Ajax in the Champions League this term, and Manchester City have benefited from it also. The question of who signs the United players was something that Jose Mourinho questioned as he was refused the players that he wanted last summer.
United need to either appoint a director of football or give Solskjaer the full control that he needs to build the squad he wants. Ed Woodward has played his part in the decline of the club, and while he will point to the brand never being more successful; the performance on the pitch is the only thing that fans really care about. Certainly, there will be no magical transformation to make United contenders for the Premier League title, but the least that is required is the heart and desire that has been a stable in great United teams down the years.
