Terry rejects trio of American clubs to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea captain, John Terry has reportedly rejected offers from three of MLS biggest clubs to join them ahead of the new season, which starts in March, according to report from Daily Star.

The 36-year-old former England international has really struggled for game time this reason under Antonio Conte, but his impact has been rarely felt as the Blues have strolled to the top of the Premier League table, while being defensively consistent.

After initially being a regular at the start of the season, Terry has found opportunities limited as he has struggled to impose himself in the team, while also struggling with injuries.

However, Terry is unwilling to leave Chelsea as he is desperate to win another league title, which is very much possible given that The Blues are eight points clear at the top of the table, with just 13 matches left to be played.

The Blues legend took a pay cut to stay at Chelsea last summer, but there have been no talks about an extension, which means he could leave as a free agent when the season ends. The likes of Luiz, Cahill and even Azpilicueta have all moved ahead of the mercurial defender in the pecking order, but the player is unfazed and will keep fighting for his Chelsea future.

If he moves to the MLS in the summer he stands to pocket a signing-on fee of around £500,000 and could earn up to £200k a week. The likes of LA galaxy, New York Red Bulls and Orlando are all rumoured to be keen on the legendary centre-back.
