Solanke to join Liverpool in stunning summer switch

Highly rated Chelsea striker, Domininc Solanke’s time at the club looks set to end this summer after the club and his representatives refused to reach an agreement about a contract extension.

The 19-year-old sensation has refused to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge for anything short of a rumored £50k a week deal, a valuation which Chelsea are willing not to meet. The England U-21 star has reportedly told his close friends he is set to join Liverpool in the summer, which would be a big coup for the Reds as Solanke is one of the brightest talents in the entire country.

Antonio Conte, the Chelsea manager, confirmed that Solanke is set to leave in the summer in his pre-match press conference for the FA Cup fifth round clash away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Italian said as quoted by The Sun: “I think (he will leave), I am not sure, but I think this is his will”. “I don’t know, I should have a crystal ball to tell his future, I wish for him and his family the best” he added.

If Liverpool do sign the young player, they might have to pay up to £8m in compensation to Chelsea at a tribunal set up because the player is under 24, and is not normally expected to run out his contract.

Solanke has been training with Chelsea’s first team this season, but has failed to appear for the runaway league leaders. He went on loan to Vitesse Arnheim last year and scored 7 goals in 25 appearances for the Dutch outfit.
