Teenage striking sensation, Marcus Rashford could be forgiven if he is star struck when seeing the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at training every other day.
The 19-year-old, who burst onto the scene with two well taken goals this time last year against Midtjylland has praised the impact of the trio in recent weeks, and says that the team has improved as a result of them being at the club, more evident as the team came behind to beat Blackburn in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.
Danny Graham had put the Championship struggles in the lead after great work by Marvin Emnes but Rashford equalized, courtesy of an inch-perfect pass by the Armenian.
The second goal came as a result of Pogba and Ibrahimovic combining in the second half after being introduced in the second half by manager, Jose Mourinho. Rashford was effusive in hisnprside for the trio and had this to say after the game.
“It was a brilliant ball,” he said. “Most of their players were around him on that side of the pitch but he was able to look up and see my run and, thankfully, I could finish it off.”
“It was good to have them [Pogba and Zlatan] come on. We had just been missing that little bit of something during the game. We had only had it in spurts but, when those two came on, it just gave us that bit of an edge and everyone knows what quality players they are and they showed that again.” he added.
United are on course for a cup treble, as they are still in the running for The EFL Cup, FA Cup and Europa League.
