Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial has rubbished speculations linking him with a move away from the club. The 21-year-old Frenchman has struggled for game time this season under Jose Mourinho, but is finally showing some of the consistency that prompted the club to splurge out £36m on his signature last season.
The player was linked to Spanish side, Sevilla in the January transfer window, but this statement by the man himself will calm down the fears of Old Trafford faithfuls who are excited about the prospect of the former Monaco ace.
Martial had a great first season at the club, netting 17 goals across all competitions but the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the increased competition for places across the forward line means that Martial has not played week-in, week-out, apart from the early part of the season.
Speaking recently when asked about his United future, he said as quoted by The Manchester Evening News:
“I love Manchester. I love the club. I love the fans. I enjoy them backing me. I try to be as good as possible to make them happy. I want to stay as long as possible in this club,”.
“Last year I played a lot I had possible to play back to back games. I enjoy playing and I have to wait.” he added.
The club has immense faith in the ability of the player and would be unwilling to let him leave the club. He is a classy player capable of playing upfront and on the left hand side of the attacking triumvirate. Since swapping Ligue 1 for England, he has scored 24 goals in 74 appearances for the 20-time English champions.
