It is looking more likely that Lyon player, Nabil Fekir will be joining Arsenal. This is according latest report that he has highlighted Arsenal as one of the possible clubs he might be joining.
A fee of around £60m have been reported by Mirror earlier to be the cost to get the player to the Emirates.
Arsenal are linked with several attackers in recent time due to the fact that two of the biggest player at the club, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are in the last year of their contract, so it’s better to start looking for replacement in case one or both decides not to sign a new deal.
The reports on Arsenal signing the 24 year old is gathering momentum as it as earlier been reported that the North London side have entered negotiations with Lyon over a possible transfer of the player.
Fekir have been in blistering form for the Ligue 1 side this season contributing 14 goals in 21 appearances so far.
Despite being linked with a host of clubs, when asked about his possible destination when he leaves Lyon, the French star mentioned Arsenal among the likely destinations. In an in interview reported by the Mirror, he said:
“Spain, with Real [Madrid], Barcelona and Atletico [Madrid] who are the big clubs. After that there is England: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal. I don’t have a specific club [I want to go to].”
When asked if this is his last season at Lyon he has this to say:
“Is this my last season at Lyon? I don’t know what the future holds for me. I’ve still got two years left on my contract. So, I’m still Lyonnais.”
Fekir will definitely be a good addition to the team as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
He will also easily acclimatize to life at the Emirates as he has lot of French players to look at and also, the presence of Alexandre Lacazette who they played together at Lyon could also make a big influence.
