The 26-year-old winger has been one of the shining lights for Slaven Bilic’s men this season, and was rumored to be a subject of interest from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
However, the former Nottingham Forest star has rubbished such links, insisting he is happy at the London Stadium and hinting he could be set for a new deal with the East London outfit. Speaking recently, Antonio said as quoted by Football.london:
“I’m 26, the next contract will cover the prime of career,” “I see my future at West Ham, definitely. “I have enjoyed my time here, they gave me the opportunity and there is no need for me to change.
“I am not distracted, not at all. It’s all down to what I do on the field. I take it more as a compliment but if I stop doing what I am doing, those reports will stop happening.” he added.
Chelsea boss, Conte has monitored the progress of the England international at West Ham and could be willing to sanction a move for the player.
The Italian believes the winger could be an alternative to Victor Moses in the right wing-back position, as the Nigerian is the only player capable of making that position his own at the club after the exit of club legend, Branislav Ivanovic. Antonio has scored 8 goals and made 3 more in 32 appearances this season.
