Bosnian defender, Sead Kolasinac has joined Arsenal as the first signing of this summer’s transfer window.
The former Schalke man was attracting the interest of clubs like Chelsea and Juventus, but he had only one eye for Arsenal, as he has been a childhood fan of the club. Kolasinac, who will turn 24 later on in the month, is a classy left back, who will offer variety in Arsenal’s new system of playing the 3-4-3, and will join the club for pre-season on July 1.
Arsenal are tending to their business early in the transfer window as the likes of Manchester United and City are threatening to leave them behind.
Arsenal failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, but they have managed to capture Kolasinac, who was influential for Schalke 04 last season, and has now been snapped up by the Gunners on a free transfer after failing to extend his contract in Gelsenkirchen.

Arsene Wenger got a new 2-year contract at the end of the season despite protests by fans, and has set his sights on winning the Premier League, as one final hurrah before leaving the club. The likes of Kylian Mbappe and Jean Seri have also been rumored to be in the wanted list, after Arsenal chief, Ivan Gazidis and Arsene Wenger were spotted in Nice in recent days.
Kolasinac has played only for Schalke all his entire career, making over 100 appearances for the Ruhr side, and is a left back, who can play as a left sided centre back. He is known for his tackling and aerial strength, and will offer quality to the Gunners back-line.
