Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has slammed Tottenham striker, Vincent Janssen for his lack of professionalism and belief on the training ground, and has said he doesn’t know when the Holland international will feature for the club.
The 22 year old former AZ man, Eredivisie’s topscorer last year, has struggled for goals in North London, and is being labelled a “flop”. Pochettino has leapt up in defence of his striker earlier in the season, but it seems the Argentine manager is starting to lose faith in the player.
Speaking at the press conference ahead of the FA Cup fifth round tie at Fulham, Pochettino said, ” He needs to show more and we will see.
Maybe he will have the chance to be on the bench or play from the start against Fulham:
“He was out of the squad against Gent and we cannot be sure if he will be in the squad, on the bench or start the game. Performance is always about how the players show their quality, their belief on the training ground.” he added.
Janssen has failed to score from open play for the team this season, and Pochettino demands improvement from him if he wants to play.
He was left out of the squad that played Gent and has looked forlorn and glum in recent weeks. Since joining from AZ in an £18m deal in the summer, he has scored just 4 times in 24 matches for the North London outfit, with all of them coming from the penalty spot.
