Tottenham are reportedly rumored to be interested in a move to bringing highly-rated French youngster, Kylian Mbappe to White Hart Lane, but it will take a mammoth deal from the London side to bring him to England.
Mbappe, 18 has had a breakout season with the principality club, scoring 11 times in 25 appearances and reportedly has a release clause of up to €80m. Mauricio Pochettino has a identified the striker as the perfect foil for Harry Kane, as he will offer greater threat going forward, and he fits the Tottenham model as he is young and hungry to succeed.
L’Equipe reports that the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and even Barcelona are all interested in his signature, but the magnitude of the transfer fee means that Tottenham may be pushed out of a deal, though, Pochettino is not willing to give up on the chase.
Mbappe has grown into one of the best young players in the world under Leonardo Jardim’s tutelage, and became the club’s youngest ever goal scorer, when he scored against Troyes a year ago, beating the record of the man he has been compared to, Thierry Henry.
Mbappe has been exceptional for Monaco this season, as they top the Ligue 1 table, having scored tons of goals with the likes of Radamel Falcao and Valeire Germain. If he does join Spurs for that amount, he will beat the record of Anthony Martial, another Monaco product, who joined Manchester United as the holder of the record for the highest transfer fee ever paid for a teenager.
