Italian giants, AC Milan are mulling over chasing Arsenal striker, Alexis Sanchez. The 28-year-old Chile international is stalling over a new deal at the Emirates, as his current deal at the club runs out next summer, according to report from Express.
Arsenal may be willing to listen to offers as they don’t want to lose him on a free. Milan, who have been on a downward spiral since winning Serie A in 2011, are looking at the player to bolster their ranks as they have the cash to spend.
The 18-time Italian league winners have new Chinese owners, after being subject to a takeover earlier in the season.
There have been calls for Sanchez to leave the club, especially by his countrymen especially in the light of last week’s 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich, and inside sources say that the former Barcelona man is fed up with life at the club and is willing to move.
Sanchez has scored 20 goals in all competitions for The Gunners, and will be sorely missed if he leaves the club. It is believed that the Italian giants have £110m to spend on a marquee signing under the tutelage of Vincenzo Montella next season.
After a decent start to the season, Milan suffered their now usual mid-season slump, and are currently 7th on the table, with 44 points. Sanchez will be a statement signing should he decide to play for Milan, but the San Siro outfit have the likes of Juventus, PSG and Inter Milan to contend with in the race for the Chilean’s signature. He has experience playing in the country, having played for Udinese earlier in his career.
